Flora: painted and hidden gardens
Let’s get seduced by the generous flowers firmament of the Uffizi Gallery.
During our guided tour we will discover the symbolic meaning and link between mithology and flowers, neo-platonic gardens and archaeology.
We will focus on the floral details of Giotto, the flowery Gothic style of Gentile da Fabriano; the ancient statues who were the custodians of the Medici gardens and the multiples intepretations of the „Spring“ by Botticelli.
Sandro Botticelli tells us a scented tale of flowers: orange-trees, yews, myrtle, laurel and cypresses are the frame of the spectacular profusion of love, whom the goddess Venus is the protagonist.
Let’s get lost in the green corridors of the Uffizi; let’s look for columbines, lilies and carnation flowers painted by Flemish and Tuscan painters as Simone Martini, Beato Angelico, Ghirlandaio, Hugo Van der Goes, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello and Michelangelo.
The guided tour could be combined with a garden guided tour on your choice.
